Loaf of bread

“My grandpa used to always give me this example as a kid and how true is it now that I’ve grown up and experienced life.

He would say, ‘You see this loaf of bread? If you were content with what Allah has given you, this loaf of bread would arrive at your table without you having to even think about it. It would reach you while you had peace of mind and tranquility in your soul. But what about the one who isn’t content with what Allah has given him? This loaf of bread would become harder than a calculus problem in his life. Which store sells it cheaper? How soft is it? Is it fresh? That store’s closed today, I have to get it from this other store; a million and one obstacles mentally and physically for a measly piece of bread.

Be content with what Allah gives you, my son, and live a life with peace of mind and a tranquil soul because this whole world is as insignificant as a piece of bread.'”
