🔸️ All of us are sinful but the ones who acknowledge their sins, regain Allah’s Rahmah. Don’t let your losses or shortcomings dictate you for the rest of your life, move on, change your attitude and let your mindset be optimistic. Above all put your faith in Allah and trust him…. you will succeed.
Iman comes from the combination of the fear and hope of Allah.
It has been narrated that Imam Al-Hasan Al-Basri said about hypocrisy: “مَا أَمِنَهُ إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ، وَمَا خَافَهُ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ,” which means no one feels safe from into hypocrisy except a hypocrite, and no one fears falling into hypocrisy except a believer.
In my 20s, I I feel like Fear was the main state that I operated from. It was the thing that motivated me to worship more, remove bad habits from my life etc. I just felt unworthy and honestly, pretty miserable a lot of times.
Now I am in my 30s and let me tell you that I am SO GLAD the main state I’m operating from right now is GRATITUDE and HOPE. I am *excited* about worship, I want to do more because I want God’s Pleasure, instead of doing something to avoid His Anger. Sunsets, books, coffee, any manner of life experience right now fills me with an increased thankfulness to God and let me tell you, I am so much happier.
Ibn Al-Qayyim says: The heart on its journey towards Allah the Exalted is like that of a bird. Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the head is healthy, then the two wings will fly well. When the head is cut off, the bird will die. When either of two wings is damaged, the bird becomes vulnerable to every hunter and predator.
I try to remember that we need both of these – hope and fear. Whichever state you find yourself in this Ramadan, know that they are both valid. Focus on your state and how you can use it to get closer to Allah, and pray for everyone around you.
🔸️ The difficult will be made easy, the impossible will become possible, but only when you put in the effort, and you put your trust in Allah SWT.
This phrase appears 7 times in the Quran.
3 times around the creation of Jesus.
And 4 times around the creation of the heavens and earth and the Day of Judgment. The one that I would like to explore is the powerful sequence that concludes one of the most popular chapters of the Quran, Surat Yaseen.
“Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes! And He is the Knowing Constant Creator. His command is simply when He intends a thing that He says to it, “Be,” and it is. So Blessed is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.” (Yaseen v. 81-83)
Allah would be able to recreate this entire universe in a moment, with a single word “Be”Stars, galaxies, would all be recreated with a single word….Life on Earth, billions of creatures, billions of people would all be recreated as simply as they were created the first time…To reflect on the power of Allah is to understand the greatness of calling upon Him, and the evil of calling on other than Him.And hence, du’a is the essence of worship, and the worst of shirk is to call upon other than Allah when He has created you.The most foolish thing is to have access to an All-Powerful God, and to never call upon Him.He can bring you back to life, don’t you think He can bring life back to you?
Tawakkul does not mean making dua with a twinge of uncertainty. Tawakkul means you make dua like it’s already going to happen.
We just need to have tawakkul in Allah and take some action in right direction. It is Allah who will complete that action for you.
Those who put their full faith in Allah, He will help them from sources they would least expect from.
Musa (peace be upon him) stood facing the sea with pharaoh’s army coming up behind him. He looked at the oppressed, innocent people he was leading to freedom. Their faces were covered with panic, fear, anxiety, and even hopelessness. Some of them cried out, “”Musa! We’re doomed!””
Musa (alayhissalam) calmly and steadily replied, “”NEVER. My Lord is with me. HE will show me the way.“”Allah then commanded Musa (pbuh) to strike the sea with his staff.
What would that accomplish?
What difference would it make?
It’s important to remember that there’s always work to be done. Quitting is not an option.
When Musa (pbuh) remained firm and did what he could do, one of the greatest miracles unfolded. The sea split. The oppressed were delivered to safety, dignity, and freedom against all odds. The oppressors were dealt with by God.Allah has not forsaken us. We will not lose faith. HE will guide us and show us the way. We will continue to work hard to establish peace, dignity, and justice inshaAllah.
Whoever says in the morning and in the evening “”Sufficient for me is Allah, there is no god besides Him; in Him have I put my trust and He is the Lord of the mighty Throne”” seven times, Allah, may He be exalted, will suffice him for what concerns him.
When you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed or filled with anxiety, it’s important to become aware of your self-talk. What is it that you’re saying to yourself? If you’re constantly saying negative, stress provoking statements, you’re going to increase your anxiety.
If you focus instead on saying calming words to yourself such as, “InshaAllah everything is going to be ok, I’m going to be strong, or we can get through this,” you will provide yourself with comfort and peace.
Stop imagining the worst case scenario because this causes you a tremendous amount of stress and heartache. Save your energy for actual situations.
Know that if you put your trust in Allah with full conviction you will find solace inshaAllah.
Make this a time of reflection. See it as a spiritual wake up call and totally commit to improving yourself in every aspect of your life.
Imagine how grateful a person would be if they got a second chance to correct themselves.
See this as your wake up call. See this as your second chance. See this as your time to change.
Feel motivated to make the necessary changes in yourself and utilize every minute for self-improvement. This will occupy your time with productivity and purpose. Once your mind is busy with doing worthwhile activities it won’t be consumed with fear.
I pray that Allah eases your hearts, fills you with serenity, strength and acceptance along with protection from all forms of trials and tribulations.
What are you ready to change in yourself now that you’re given a second chance?
